I have added a much requested feature to RAW Power — Lightroom support. There is now a plugin you can download from the website ( RAW Power Plugin for Lightroom), which you use with the just-released RAW Power 1.4.

There is a short video that shows how it works as well: ( https://youtu.be/4suoyktLxqw )

The plugin support non-destructive editing (including roundtrip editing between LR and RAW Power).

It works with Lightroom Classic and earlier (not the [feature-limited] Lightroom CC 2017).

Try it out and let me know what you think!

It says “Unable to open RAW Power”.Any ideos how to fix it?

Please check a couple of things:
      1) That you have downloaded RAW Power 1.4 (or the 1.4 trial)
      2) Please make sure it is in the Applications folder.
      Does that fix the problem?

There is a new version of the plugin which fixes some important bugs: https://gentlemencoders.com/lightroom-plugin/

    Hi,

I have RAW Power 1.4 and LR 6 and I get the “Unable to Open Raw Power” message. I’ve installed and uninstalled the plug in a couple of times. Thanks.

Do you have the 1.0.1.1 plugin? You can check the version with the LR Plugin Manager.

There are three reasons the plugin will display that message. Does it display it with any other text (like “please contact” or “RAWPowerLauncher is missing”? Or is it missing any other text?
(BTW: please email support@gentlemencoders.com to troubleshoot this further)

Maybe I am being stupid but if your using Lightroom to edit your RAWs why would you also have RAW Power as a plug-in. I appreciate it may edit slightly differently, is this the reason?

The plugin was a big request from a lot of customers. A lot of them used to use Aperture and like the look of Apple’s decoder over Adobe’s. That preference may be all the time, or just for certain types of shots or cameras. Basically, it gives people an easy way to try a second RAW decoder without having to use a different library manager or export photos, etc.

Mine does not work also I have a pop up saying
” UNABLE TO OPEN RAW POWER The version of Raw Power / Raw Power Trial is too old. It must be version 1.4 or later.”

    • Nik Bhatt

There is a new version of the trial and app. You can download the trial on the website (here). If you are using the App Store version, there is an update there as well.

I have the latest trial version and the latest Lightroom Plugin and I still get the error messages that everyone else is mentioning – and yes the Trial version is in my applications folder – does this actually work – if so what am I doing wrong?

        • Nik Bhatt

I’m sorry it’s not working for you. Can you tell the exact error message? That should help to troubleshoot it. Please email support@gentlemencoders.com to continue this discussion so that we can get faster turnaround on this issue.

I cannot see the plugin in Lightroom CC

          • Nik Bhatt

Sorry it’s not working properly for you. The first two things to check are:
            1) check that you unzipped the plugin
            2) In the LR plugin manager, please click the Add button and navigate to the plugin (in Downloads, probably).

Do you see the plugin in the Add window, but it doesn’t install? Or does it install but doesn’t show up in the Plug-in Extras menu?
I’ll send you an email as well — it will be faster to troubleshoot this that way instead of through the forum.
